DUCT WRAP & FIRE WRAP

Duct wrap and fire wrap are materials used to improve fire resistance and insulation in various construction and HVAC applications.

Duct Wrap

  • Purpose: Provides thermal insulation and sound attenuation for ductwork, preventing heat loss or gain.
  • Material: Typically made from fiberglass or foam, wrapped in a protective facing (like foil) to enhance moisture resistance.
  • Applications: Used in HVAC systems to maintain energy efficiency and control condensation.

Fire Wrap

  • Purpose: Designed to protect ductwork and structural elements from fire, limiting the spread of flames and smoke.
  • Material: Often made from mineral wool or other fire-resistant materials, sometimes with a foil or intumescent coating that expands when exposed to heat.
  • Applications: Commonly used in commercial buildings, industrial settings, and anywhere fire safety regulations require additional protection.

Both wraps are critical for ensuring safety and efficiency in buildings. If you have specific questions about applications or installation, feel free to ask!
